Since I was little, I've loved to spend time and sleep over at Grandma's house. She had such fun books and games and dress-up dresses, and fluffy blankets on the tall guest room bed, and books and books and more books—my grandmother was a reader, like me. We have always loved to share our favorite books with each other. And she let us sew things with her fabric scraps, and introduced us to the fun movies on the classic movie channels. She loved us—and we knew it—and we loved her. :-) Since I moved away from home, we've written letters, and it's been fun to hear her talk about the fun times she's been having with the people at home.
Grandma with my cousin's baby. Grandma loved all of her babies, even after they grew up!
Grandma at a family reunion. She was a great sport when we had camping reunions.I was hoping to make this an eloquent (albeit a kind of journal-entry) post about Grandma and the fun times we had, the sweet woman she is, and how fun it will be to introduce her to my children some far-off day in the eternities. But the post feels kind of disjointed, like her house feels without her in it. *smiling sigh* I'm glad that my mommy got to have her mommy for quite a while, and I'm sad that she is an orphan now. But I'm glad that my kids will probably have both of their grandmothers for quite a while, and a few great-grandmothers, too!
The next time I see Grandma, I think it will be just like old times; I'll come around a corner, and she'll come toward me with open arms, saying, "Well hello, little honey!"

You grandmother is definitely a sweetheart. I'm glad we made a point to spend some time with her every time we were up there, and that you sent her so many letters. :-)
