I'm just a bit behind.

You see, I'm still writing our July post... haven't started our August post yet... and here it is mid-September, and we've moved to Germany. :-) Haven't found a house yet—still living at the hotel—actually, we haven't even been here a whole week yet. But we're feeling really good about things. We'll feel better when both of us recover from our colds, and when my toe recovers from its nasty encounter with a door, and when Josh can actually start working, and when we find an apartment and have some time to breathe before the baby comes...

However, until then, we are doing pretty well! Josh's German is resettling nicely, and my default small-talk ("good morning," "please," "thank you," "Excuse me," "That's fine," etc.) is finally reset to German instead of coming out Spanish or French or Arabic. I'm still working on the rest of the language... happily, there are lots more house terms in my vocabulary now, from looking at ads for apartments! :-)

I'll post more adventures soon—I'll probably try to get July and August up soon, too. But I just wanted to let everyone know that we're here safely, that Boo is squirming enthusiastically, and that we're all well on our way to full jet-lag recovery. (Still, feel free to keep us in your prayers.) :-)

I can't believe you're really there! I'm scared, but excited for you. Some of the coolest stuff comes from Germany. Hope you find a house soon!!

I had no idea you were moving to Germany!! How long will you guys be there for? Matt got a promotion at Goldman Sachs so we decided to stick around. We have asked to do a year in london which looks promosing if the economy continues to improve. If it happens it won't be for another year or so but if you are still in Germany by that time I am so coming to visit you!

Yeah, Kristen, we can't believe we're really here either, but it's getting more real every day. :-) We've got some good leads on houses—we're going house-hunting again today.

Mandy, please do!! We'll be here at least two years, and we would totally return the visit! :-D

I cannot believe that I missed BOTH of you Bay-area girls when we were up there this past summer. Grrr.
