It was a little lizard! Probably 3.5 to 4 inches long, counting his tail, and 1.5 inches wide or so.
You see these lizards outside all the time around here (especially around our church building, for some reason). They're little desert lizards, so I suppose this one could live in my office for a little while without food or drink—it's not too hot in there. And maybe there are some nice juicy bugs in the corners that I don't know about.
I hope that if he wanted to get back outside, he has found his way out by now.

Hooray--Geneil finally has a friend in her office again. Probably doesn't carry on a conversation quite as well as Harriet, but it's better than nothing. Also, this lizard has a lot more in common with her husband than Geneil might like to admit. For instance, everyone knows that lizards like to eat protein. Josh also likes to eat protein. And this lizard likes to hang out with Geneil. Josh also likes to hang out with Geneil. Finally, everyone knows that lizards detest Utah's football team. Just like Josh. So I, for one, am glad to hear that you have such an upstanding new friend in your office.
my question is did you name him anything? he was your pet for like a few hours, and every lizard needs a good name like sally or camero. lol... just reminds me of the silly pets we have had that weren't really pets... like the spider in the quiet room, and the random puppys that always got dropped off at our house. but thats cool that you had a pet you didnt have to feed...
