High temperature for today: 75*F
Current temperature: 65*F
This morning, when I went up to the front office to fill up my water bottle:
Fernando: *shivers with brr sound effects* It's cold this morning!
[Editor's note: it really is colder in the warehouse, because there isn't any sunshine in there.]
Geneil: Yep! It feels so good, though.
Fernando: Oh yeah, right...
Geneil: What?
Fernando: (accusingly) I forgot that you like the cold.
The current cool weather, plus the fact that I listened to a whole Christmas album yesterday on the sly (Thanksgiving is so late this year! Gah!), plus the other fact that I ate pomegranate applesauce for breakfast this morning, all makes me happy. Which is good, because my current project was due for approval at 11:30 a.m., but my internet wouldn't behave long enough for me to get high-resolution images that I need for it. (Just got a message from the associate who wanted to see it; turns out that it isn't really urgent that he sees it before he leaves at noon—I can just send it to his assistant whenever it's done. I guess his earlier urgent message must've just been his early-morning caffeine talking.) So now I am typing a blog entry while I wait for the internet to come back up. Also, Google Reader would tell me that I had new items, but then wouldn't let me see them. Also, I'm feeling sheepish because I slept in this morning, even though I shouldn't indulge (and be a bad influence on Josh) when we already have some lovely vacation coming later this week...
But I've gotten three e-mails from Josh already today (even with the internet malfunctioning!). Really, I should not be grumbly—this has been a good morning. :-)
Hmm. There was no sign of my little lizard friend this morning, so I was thinking he had found his way out over the weekend. But just now I heard a little scrabbling sound from behind the cardboard box in the corner, so he must still be back there... ooo, he's getting bolder! I just turned and slid my chair back a little to glance back at the corner, and he scurried out from between the wheels of my chair, into a different corner. I think he was sniffing the grocery sack that I brought my lunch in... should I offer him a cracker or a slice of tangerine? :-D
Silly lizard. He's really fast—he could make it to the door in no time.
Update at 12:53: He did it! Suddenly I heard the little scratching noise, over by the door; the lizard was sitting there on the doormat, ready to be let out. :-D So I carefully turned the knob and swung open the door, and he scurried out as fast as his little legs could take him.
In other news, I've just found out that the internet problems aren't just at our location—apparently the corporate office is having issues too, and Verizon is working on the problem. Hooray!

I LOVE it! I'm currently listening to Christmas music too!
The Daily Universe had an interesting article about early preparations for Christmas that you two young ladies *ahem* might want to take a look at:

Also, take a look at the following letter to the editor:
Library Christmas decorations
I just wanted to take the opportunity to say I'm thankful BYU starts putting up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving. It takes a lot of time and effort to get everything up, and it's nice to be able to enjoy the full beauty of BYU's Christmas decorations between Thanksgiving and the end of the school year. If they did it any later, we students would only be able to enjoy the decorations for a few days before heading home after finals for the holidays. Kudos!
I also read an interesting editorial the other day justifying putting up outdoor decorations before Thanksgiving. It's warmer in November and therefore easier to decorate! I never thought of that before, because I've never tried to put up Christmas lights when it's 15 degrees outside. That is something I'll keep in mind for the future, when I want to put up Christmas decorations outside.
