Tagged!

Who: I was tagged by my cousin (sorry it's taken me so long, Kristen!); I hereby tag anybody who would like to be tagged.

Subject: Wonderful Qualities. List every member who lives in your home. Include 5 wonderful qualities each member holds. (No particular order necessary.)

The Catch: You must include yourself.

Why: It's easy to just go about each day and forget to be grateful.

Josh
1. He makes up fun silly songs; he surprises me at work, and takes me to lunch; he teases me about the things that I go crazy about (like Jane Austen), but didn't laugh at me when I cried a little at the end of the new Persuasion; when my hands or feet are cold, he wraps them up or pulls them close to him to warm them up. In other words, he just plain makes me happy all the time. :-)
2. He is a kind and loyal friend. (Unless you're his Settlers of Cataan rival... but he reverts back as soon as the game is over.)
3. He remembers things that I completely forgot I told him! (For example, it was months ago that I told him about the White Christmas songbook that he just gave me for my birthday... I had even forgotten about finding it on sale. But he didn't.)
4. He is an excellent student, a clever learner; he also has a talent for teaching what he knows.
5. He makes amazing smoothies; as many of you know, he's like having your own Jamba Juice in the house.

Geneil
1. I really mean well. :-) Things I try to do don't always turn out how I hoped they would, but I do try to do good things and love other people well.
2. I'm cheerful! (A friend actually called me yesterday because, she said, "I wanted to talk to someone cheerful." So I must be doing something right there!)
3. I love people tenaciously, as my mother says. This means that even if I haven't e-mailed you or talked to you for a little while, the next time we talk I will feel like we just talked yesterday—because I've probably thought of you since then—and I hope you do, too. :-)
4. I'm a pretty decent accompanist. I will never be a concert pianist, but I can help make someone else's musical number sound better by playing along.
5. I don't usually get lost. I have the strange talent of keeping maps in my head, and knowing what lane we need to be in miles in advance. I don't know if this counts as a "wonderful quality," but it does come in handy. :-)

Happy lunchtime!

Mmmm...tell Josh to post a smoothie recipe. What a handy talent to have in a husband...my sore throat could sure use one right now!

I'll ask him to approximate a recipe--he's one of those who does it by instinct. He made one on Sunday that was soooo goooood... I know that it had frozen berries in it, and some Hansen's raspberry soda, and some fruit juice, and some raspberry yogurt... I'll try to get details up on here sometime.

Hope your throat feels better soon!

I am still a little suspicious of Josh's translation of the German Settlers of Cataan cards, particularly the one that says "I get to remove all your pieces from the board."

Geneil,
You DO love tenaciously..and I, for one, am very glad....
Brian, I'm suspicious of MOST of Josh's translations in ANY language! Hope you are well!

In my defense, let me just point out that the German rules for Settlers of Cataan can be somewhat vague, especially when I have 6 points and everyone else has 8 or 9.
